Autocross

AutocrossAutocross, this is one of the best value for money motorsport categories around. Autocross is held on unsealed surfaces the Ballarat Light Car Clubs track is about1.3 km in length. The surface is granite sand; people say one of the best in Victoria, utilizing various different layouts and now can run in both Directions.

You are timed, it is a single Car situation (Witches hats guide you and you lose points for each one that you hit). The Track is licensed by (CAMS) The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, so you will need A CAMS licence to compete & to be a member of a car club.

The Ballarat Light Car Club normally runs about 6 Autocrosses in a year, the Competition Cars range from Standard to Specials. Most of the Competitors have road registered Cars, Drive them there and Home again, So you can drive anything from a Mitsubishi Colt, to a Subaru STi and still have Fun.

AutocrossYour Car will need to be in a safe Condition also having Mud Flaps fitted to all driving wheels, Fire extinguisher, Secondary Throttle Spring and a Battery Triangle. (Refer BLCC Rules)

Rally type winter tread tyres are not permitted which keeps the cost down and the track is maintained with less effort.

All drivers must wear an approved safety helmet and possess an easily obtained CAMS level 2 NS licence.
