Now in its Sixth Year THE BANANA LOUNGE was originally the Festival Club for
THE BALLARAT WINTER FESTIVAL 1999 and 2000.
The Winter Festival is gone, but the spirit of the Winter Fest lives on via our annual event.

THE BANANA LOUNGE will showcase world-class music, performance, film and new theatre from regional Australia and beyond. The event was created by 1999 and 2000 Artistic Director Mick Trembath, and brings together the talents of the technical crew from RATNET and The University of Ballarat Arts Academy Diploma of Entertainment Course to present cutting edge digital documentantion of intense original Australian musical and artistic performances in the historic bluestone surrounds of The Grainery Lane Theatre and Gallery, Ballarat Victoria Australia. In 2004, events will be archived for the web soon after the event, as we have no broadband access.

The events are always run on very tight budgets, and we gain assistance from a number of local businesess
and organizations, as well as hundreds of hours of volunteers time to get the mini festival running.
